Presentation:
As mentioned before, the graphics are new and vibrant, making Pandora look beautiful, but also adding to the comical and playful nature of the game. It also makes it a less dark journey seeing as you're greeted with bloody dead bodies littering the floors in new areas. Voice acting is top notch, delivering some laugh out loud moments from characters such as a the redneck-car-dealing Scooter who can make quite the pun. The background sound is equally fitting to the game, it kicks up when the action is on, and really calms down when you're walking through the headlands. Guns sound superb, with the crack of the sniper rifle giving fair amounts of satisfaction, and SMG's pumping away at foes with frequent 'pew-pew' sounds. Although the story lacks a bit in the sense that it's missing a bit of needed narrative and you don't always know why you're doing the things you are. Overall it isn't that big a concern.

Gameplay:
This is what really makes this game fantastic. Gearbox fused the really great parts of RPG's, level ups etc, with solid FPS action. This really made the game that much more enjoyable as you could always be getting stronger, whether it be your proficiency with a weapon has gone up, or you've received a bigger health bar. If you've looked into this game at all you'd know that Gearbox developed a system that would give people choice in their guns, by offering them millions upon millions of them. Quoting Randy Pitchford (CEO of Gearbox) "There are more guns in this game than there are of all the Xbox 360's games' guns plus the PS3's games' guns added together." You really do see this as looting becomes a big part of the game. Approaching a weapons chest is always a different experience, as you never know what could be in there thanks to the randomized gun creator. There is a lot more of the gameplay I haven't mentioned such as the skill trees, but you get the idea. This game packs a LOT of fun with it.

Multiplayer:
This game offers people drop in/drop out play at anytime with up to 4 players plus offline split-screen. Being able to play so easily with your friends in this game is truly what makes this game shine, as the party play is ridiculously fun. At any time you can duel you're friend to show who's boss, or to settle a dispute over who gets the weapon in the chest. The more people in the game, the harder the enemies get, but also the better the loot you receive. Imo, this equals more fun.

Replayability:
With it's 'bazillion' guns you can always be searching for a better weapon. After you finish the game you can choose to play through it again but with all you're weapons+level intact. This is really needed seeing as you won't get to the level cap on the first playthrough. Along with the second playthrough there are four different characters to choose from, each offering different play styles and abilities such as the Hunter, who acts as the sniper, the Soldier, who acts as your typical Halo-esque player etc etc.

Overall, Borderlands is a really great game that does something new that for me is truly extraordinary. Of course if you aren't into shooting things, skill trees, and looting this game might not be for you.
