August 2017 Game Release Schedule

August 2017 Game Release Schedule

The dry season for games is in the rear-view mirror, and August is one of the last months before we see the onslaught that is Q4. But that doesn’t mean your wallet is off scot-free.

Starting the month is Ninja Theory’s self-published Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. The action game based on Celtic mythology explores a characters personal, psychological journey. If you’re looking for something a little lighter, Cliff Bleszinki’s multiplayer shooter LawBreakers releases on the same day.

Near the tail-end of August, we have the Nintendo/Ubisoft mash-up, Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle. The game blends both franchises into a tactical shooter, where planning is the key to success. Uncharted is also seeing a stand-alone release, with Chloe Frazer taking up the lead role in The Lost Legacy.

For a more in-depth look at upcoming games – including some we may have missed – make sure to check our supplemental “Releasing This Week” article every Monday. For an overview of the year, check out the 2017 Game Release Schedule, which we'll periodically be updating.

Note: While this list is intended to be as comprehensive as possible, it is difficult to cover everything, especially with the growing prominence of downloadable and indie games. The dates of some releases can also shift around. If you notice anything that's missing, please let us know in the comments, or by emailing news@nzgamer.com.

I'm actually pretty keen for the Mario rabbids game, despite having never touched a rabbids game.

That and the Life is Strange game. Terrible writing aside I really dug the first one.
