April 2017 Game Release Schedule

April 2017 Game Release Schedule

We’re coming off one of the busiest months in gaming, but that doesn’t mean things are slowing down. While larger titles like Injustice 2 and Prey are further away, April offers some sizable experiences to sink your teeth into.

If you’re a JRPG fan, Persona 5 is finally releasing. Players lead a ragtag group of teens, as they steal the ill-intent from the hearts of adults. If you’re looking for something a little more retro-inspired, then you’ll have your fill; Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is an HD remake of the original Master System game, and The Disney Afternoon Collection brings a suite of older titles to modern consoles.

For a more in-depth look at upcoming games – including some we may have missed – make sure to check our supplemental “Releasing This Week” article every Monday. For an overview of the year, check out the 2017 Game Release Schedule, which we'll periodically be updating.

Note: While this list is intended to be as comprehensive as possible, it is difficult to cover everything, especially with the growing prominence of downloadable and indie games. The dates of some releases can also shift around. If you notice anything that's missing, please let us know in the comments, or by emailing news@nzgamer.com.

Holy crap, another huge month o_o

A couple of things missing:
Parappa the Rapper Remastered (April 4th)
LEGO City Undercover (April 5th)
A Rose in the Twilight (April 12th)
What Remains of Edith Finch (April 25th)
Outlast 2 (April 25th)

PlayStation Network says Guardians of the Galaxy is out April 18, but I don't know if that's correct. As far as I know, no date has been announced.

So excited for The Dragon's Trap remake!!! :D :D :D One thing to fix though for the article, it is coming out on Switch on the same date as PS4 and Xbox One. PC one doesn't have a release date yet.

Usually would be all over The Disney Afternoon Collection too, but it will have to wait having same date as Wonder Boy lol.
