October 2016 Game Release Schedule

October 2016 Game Release Schedule

It’s ramping up to the end of the year, so you know what that means: video game releases are ramping up too.

PlayStation VR is launching this October, so an assortment of VR-enabled titles are also on the way. If you’re not diving deep into the technological singularity this month, then a range of AAA releases are also there to keep you occupied, including Battlefield 1 and Gears of War 4.

As part of our current VIP Bounty, you’ll also get bonus point for following games – so make sure to add these ones too.

For a more in-depth look at upcoming games – including some we may have missed – make sure to check our supplemental “Releasing This Week” article every Monday.

Note: While this list is intended to be as comprehensive as possible, it is difficult to cover everything, especially with the growing prominence of downloadable and indie games. The dates of some releases can also shift around. If you notice anything that's missing, please let us know in the comments, or by emailing news@nzgamer.com.

Ugh, October is insane. I really feel bad for Rise of the Tomb Raider. It's an excellent game and I can't help but feel like it's going to get overshadowed this month when budgets start coming in to play.

For me, it's Gears of War 4 and maybe WWE 2K17 and Titanfall 2. Battlezone is making PlayStation VR awfully tempting, though! *cough*

That's... a lot of games, even when you skip all the shooters.

-Mafia III
-Paper Mario
-Dragon Quest Builders
-Rush of Blood
-VR Worlds
-Yomawari: Night Alone
-World of Final Fantasy

And then there's the PSVR itself that I haven't been able to fully pay off yet...
