Releasing This Month: April 2015

Here's what's coming to your favourite gaming platform this month.

After a busy March that saw Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Battlefield Hardline, Bloodborne, Mario Party 10, and others, April is a relatively quiet month, at least as far as big-budget releases go.

Mortal Kombat X, the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V, and Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin Edition are all on their way this month, with a host of smaller games and an expansion pack for The Sims 4 bulking out the line-up. MLB 15 The Show is also due out this month, but we're still seeking confirmation from Sony on New Zealand release details.

Note: While this list is intended to be as comprehensive as possible, is difficult to cover everything, especially with the growing prominence of downloadable and indie games. If you notice anything that's missing, please let us know in the comments, or by emailing news@nzgamer.com.

Similar to classic games like Super Metroid, Contra, Blaster Master and others, the gameplay incorporates a mix of exploration, hidden powerups, strange creatures to fight, and epic boss battles.

Super Mega Baseball

Follow

PS4, PS3

"Super Mega Baseball packs a hilarious but hardcore game of hardball. It’s unlicensed which means we’ve been able to have a ton of fun with the characters and stadiums (and throw in some parody when necessary!). Our number one goal from the beginning was to nail a set of gameplay mechanics that make for a solid solo and local coop/competitive experience. That means accessible, but with subtleties that add depth over time." - Metalhead Studios co-founder Scott Drader
