Live Text Updates Follow. (Showing newest first):

2:26pm - And that's it! Stay tuned for the full trailers hitting the website very soon!

2:25pm - Jack is back to wrap things up. He re-iterates that PlayStation is the epicenter of gaming, and that gamers should never stop playing.

2:24pm - Huge applause for that demo.

2:20pm - This game looks stunning. We see the protagonist get into a fist fight with an old guy. One of the other characters throws a rock straight into a guys head. Then his head is slammed into a table. Very graphic. A violent shotgun blast finishes the trailer.

2:19pm - What looks like a post-apocalyptic world is shown on screen. The main character walks around, and we see how the builds have deteriorated, and plants have overgrown. It's The Last of Us.

2:17pm - The stage is dark, and there's birds chirping. What could it be? Various sound affects.

2:16pm - God of War Ascension. March 12th, 2013.

2:14pm - Kratos gets himself into one insane battle with an elephant-type bad guy. He's attempting to crush Kratos, before Kratos manages to get free, and get this - slices the beasts head open, revealing his brain.

2:10pm - Kratos climbs upwards. He takes out a few more enemies with some spears and his general badassery.

2:09pm - A live gameplay demo is shown. Kratos starts by taking down a team of minotaur looking creatures. It's that same classic God of War combat we love.

2:08pm - Jack Tretton is back. It's time for God of War: Ascension.

2:06pm - HTC will be the first non-Sony group partner for PlayStation Suite - which is going to be renamed "PlayStation Mobile".

2:04pm - Andrew House is back to tell us that PlayStation Suite will be heading to Android phones and tablets.

2:02pm - "Book of Spells will be the first of many books to be released for your Wonderbook library"

2:00pm - A bit of a demo fail, as one the spells fails to work a few times! Eventually we get there.

1:59pm - Book of Spells features various spells you can "learn" and then perform, with your TV displaying the augmented reality display.

1:55pm - "We have ambitious goals for the content we want to launch with Wonderbook, so we started by working with one of the most popular authors of the world.". "Book of Spells" from JK Rowling.

1:51pm - Andrew House from SCEA takes the stage. He introduces 'Wonderbook' which uses augmented reality from the PlayStation Eye. It looks to be a platform for reading books with added augmented reality aspects.

1:50pm - Jack re-iterates that Move is an "additive" gaming experience. It's not an "all or nothing". It can be assumed he's taking some jabs at Kinect there.

1:49pm - Jack is back on stage. Now it's time to talk about PlayStation Move.

1:47pm - They place a bomb on a bride. They all rush to get off just as the whole thing explodes.

1:46pm - It must be an actual live demo, because they look awful at the game. The game itself looks very, very nice - after all, it is Far Cry.

1:45pm - Far Cry 3 will feature four-player co-op. Four players are on stage to demo it.

1:45pm - Dan Hay is here to show off Far Cry 3.

1:44pm - Jack is back to announce that Assassin's Creed III will launch with a PS3 bundle, with some extra DLC.

1:43pm - It may be a cliche, but the water looks amazing.

1:40pm - As captain Connor, you take full control of your ship, controlling the cannons and steering. Ship to ship combat is shown. It's very different from the Assassin's Creed games we've come to know thus far.

1:39pm - The developers from Ubisoft are here to display some more of Assassin's Creed III. We take to the seas in the gameplay demo shown.

1:37pm - You can link it with the PS3 version to unlock some extra goodies. There's a Vita bundle which will be the first time you can get your hands on a Crystal White PS Vita.

1:36pm - Assassin's Creed III: Liberation on Vita is shown. It'll feature a female assassin, and supports Near and other Vita features.

1:36pm - Call of Duty Black Ops Declassified will be launching this holiday season on Vita from Activision.

1:34pm - PS One Classics will be coming to Vita. Final Fantasy VII and Tomb Raider are shown on screen.

1:34pm - All the members of the audience at the conference will be getting a 12 month free subscription. Lots of applause for that.

1:33pm - PlayStation Plus is getting a big boost. Free games to members! It starts tomorrow, and games will be rotated in all the time.

1:29pm - LittleBigPlanet will gain a cross-controller DLC later in the year. This will mean you can use the Vita in conjunction with the PS3 to create levels. It's quite similar to the Xbox SmartGlass.

1:28pm - All-Stars also supports cross-save. Play on PS3 or Vita, and switch to the other seamlessly.

1:26pm - Fat Princess takes out the level! Two new characters for the game, Nathan Drake and Big Daddy from BioShock. It'll be on the showfloor, so stay tuned for our hands-on.

1:22pm - They've got two players on PS3 and two players on Vita. Sweet-tooth, Fat Princess, Kratos and Sly Cooper. You can gain "Supers", which can level up. Sweettooth gains a level three super 'Mega-tooth'. It's all very chaotic.

1:20pm - A whole lot of people come out to demo the game. The game will be available on Vita, and will be cross-compatible with PS3.

1:19pm - Time for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

1:18pm - "If you make the right decisions, maybe you will discover what lies Beyond". David leaves the stage.

1:16pm - Queue quick action-packed cuts of what looks like Jodie escaping while taking out the SWAT team.

1:14pm - Jodie sends a coffee cup flying from the officer's desk into the wall. "I know they're coming" she says, right before a SWAT team enters the room.

1:13pm - One of the first scenes of Beyond is shown. Damn it looks good. Jodie is sitting in a chair opposite a police officers desk. The officer is asking her to talk to him. To give him details about her. She doesn't budge.

1:12pm - The story takes place over 15 years of the main characters life - a girl named Jodie Holmes. She'll be played by Ellen Page.

1:11pm - It's called "Beyond: Two Souls". "Death is the biggest mystery of mankind. What will happen after we die, no one knows."

1:10pm - David Cage from Quantic Dream takes the stage.

1:09pm - Time for a brand new IP from the guys behind Heavy Rain, Quantic Dream!

1:08pm - Jack points out Kaz Hirai, CEO and President of Sony, who is in the crowd. "I love you, man" Jack tells him.

1:06pm - Jack wants to start off by paying tribute to the gamers. "Never stop playing." states the screen.

1:05pm - Jack Tretton, President and CEO of PlayStation takes the stage. He seems very happy.

1:01pm - A very impressive display of PlayStation game trailers is shown on the stage screens.

1:00pm - Things are about to kick off! Let's go!

I definitely think the Playstation show was better than the Xbox one this year; Microsoft didn't really make any big announcements, mostly just more of the same.

That said, we will have to wait and see how well Sony's attempts at switching it up will go; personally i'm not at all fussed by Wonderbook (any more than I am for MS's tablet/phone interaction).

Last of Us looks insane, I don't own a ps3 but they just seem like they understand their core audience a lot more than Microsoft, probably going to be a purchase in the next 6 months.

The Last Of Us looks awesome and will be a definite purchaseand Beyond looks interesting, I was expecting more from Battle Royale All-Stars and personally thinks it has nothing on Super Smash Bros.
Psone games on Vita, WOW, that should have been done to start with Sony, nothing still worth buying a Vita for though, Assassin's Creed looked great but I prefer my handheld experiences to be different from console based games.
Not a big fan of God of War but I know many are,and Wonderbook?, gee the 4 year old in me can't contain myself, no doubt great for little kids but not for me sorry Sony.

Not a bad conference though and better then Microsofts easy, now roll on 4am tomorrow morning for the big N.

It seems a bit basic. I would like to see more detail while fighting i.e. the number of kills etc, some kind of upgrade/customise system.

A little disappointed that it was so Vita"esque". The new lineup looks good, but there was nothing that left me going "wow". Wonder what the mobile suite would be?

Hopefully there is more player based options for BR All-Stars, SSB has a tonne of options and content to suit different players, I will be disapointed if this game only has a couple of fight modes and very little content on customising game options, I am not worried thats it's a copy of SSB for the PS3, because SSB is a great game and would be worth owning something similar yet different on another platform, I just hope they researched SSB in and out and try something different yet keeping SSB's solid gameplay, I have 4 PS3 controllers waiting if it turns out to be any good.
but from the footage shown I was not blown away or even tempted to buy it, so time will tell.

The Book of Spells demo was a waste of time, but everything else looked good (Last of Us, AC3 and Beyond especially). I was hoping for more details on PS Plus (he specifically said North American users for the free games; can we expect much down under?) and more Vita announcements (how about PS Plus bonuses for Vita?). Here's hoping someone from the NZGamer crew there can ask Sony about EU/NZ PS Plus details.

I let all the hype and rumours get to me, so I was left quite disappointed by the Playstation conference :(
There is still a lot to look forward too, but I was expecting some big surprises.

I was a little dissapointed by the conference. Some cool stuff sure, but not enough of a confidence boost for the Vita. Plus the changes to plus = bigger games = not good on a 10GB cap. I quite liked building a collection of PSone games. Certainly won't miss the minis though- but again, even less for the Vita.
