Internet Cheaters

Published Sunday 23 Nov 2008 6:56am | 28

I was just thinking of my boarder and others i know who can't help themselves by cheating in a game, and how they has to put in a cheat code before they even start the game.

The worst part? They don't classify it as cheating.  Take San Andreas for example,

san andreas

right at the start, he has all weapons.  Now how is that not classified as cheating?  And he got the code from the handy internet.

Now I don't mind if you get cheats and hints AFTER you've completed the game once, and you want to play again to get the things you missed, at least you've completed the game once.  But to give yourself an advantage before you even start, there's something not right about that.

And i've come up with a solution!!!

1- All those internet sites with the cheat codes should be account only.

2- To get the cheat, you must have at least finished the game once, and you should know the ending to the game.  So there should be a multiple choice question (with at least 10 answers that could be plausible and one right answer.)

3- If your answer is wrong, then your account will be barred from that particular game for one month.

4- Multiple accounts wont work, pokerstars only allows one account per IP address, so this should work.

Their only solution?  To go out and buy a magazine with the codes printed in it, and that's all good if you want to fork out $10 or so for a code, at least you paid for it.

If they make it one account per UP then people will just get their friends to choose a different option to them to find the code, they will need to make it built into the game to stop cheating before the game has been completed.

Just play how you want to. And they can hold their extremely weird view of cheating.

Thats not a very good idea at all...If people want to cheat, they're going to cheat, and it shouldn't bother you unless they cheat on your game, or they're further than you by cheating coz you suck.
Cheating doesn't affect the consumer as a whole, or the gaming industry, so its never going to become a problem, and people will continue to cheat, and developers will continue to write cheats into their games.

Rockstar deliberately put those cheats in their game, but it gives you a warning before you save your game. If your friend plays the game like this, his game will glitch some time near the end.
Mine did.
So I played through again, legit, and its made me a much better gamer. Some people just have to learn the hard way.

Yea, it's a choice, just like walking into a bank and robbing it, well maybe not quite the same ;-)
Something I don't condone is cheating in online games and multiplayer, that really rips me. Cheating in single player is only cheating yourself out of a great experience. Cheating in multiplayer is cheating EVERYONE.

If they buy the game, they should be allowed to play it how they want, especially if the makers of the game included a feature for it to be used.

wouldn't they just google the answer to the question and cheat?

what ever floats their boats.
some people can't get past certain things without cheating so, more power to 'em.

I was thinking that people could google the answer, and they could also just google the cheat, as always. Cheats will quickly spread to forums, so they're easier to get.

Lets be honest, people are always going to want to subvert the system... Regardless of how people feel about cheaters, all you really need to do is be true to yourself and play without cheats...

As if a cheat website would ever do this, they don't want to turn people away from their site.

No, I sit down for some GTA:Vice City.

Want to drive that Car that looks like it's from Starski and Hutch with the white racing stripe.

I can't be bothered walking/driving over to the garage, *which I own* to get it *which I unlocked already*, so I just input cheat. Whamo!

Who cares if someone wants to play with cheats before they have ever played it there allowed to, it should be up to the owner of the game
