Greedy Gamers!!!!

Now reading the title of this, "greedy gamers", the first thing that pops to mind is, i want every game that's ever been made, gimme gimme gimme! lol, well, at least that's what i think most people would think, but that's not it at all.

I'm talking about console hogs, or game hogs.  I admit, i am one of them.

I remember a blog not too long ago about there not being very many 2 player games being made anymore....but there may be reasons for that.  How many people out there are greedy gamers?  The ones that want to clock a game on their own, and the thought of sharing or playing against someone on MY console kinda gives me the chills, lol.  Don't get me wrong, i have no inhibitions on playing a 2 player game on someone else's console, but mine? forget it.

Maybe during the creation of their games, they take into consideration just how many people out there are greedy gamers, so to make them more social, so to speak, let's do multiplayer online co-op.

It makes sharing a little more bearable, and even worthwhile.

I think the days of going over to a mates place to jam on any console is losing it's appeal, and the thought of sitting at home, with no disturbances while you're jamming has a greater appeal.

Others out there who are greedy gamers, stand up and comment, and show your true colors, as i have, lol.

When I was kid I had to share a C64 with my brothers and sister. We took turns and switched every time we died. So naturally we sat there chanting die, die, die at the current player. It sounds kinda morbid in hindsight.

I used to hate it when I played at my friends and we could take turns playing, and switch "Next time I die". I be thinking: "Come on hurry up and die! NOW! LET ME PLAY"

Hmmm, I'm not sure I like the words "console hogs". I like the term "collector".

I also feel a selfish urge to do everything in a game myself. But playing together is actually more fun, so I don't really know why I feel like that.

If I dont get enough playtime on a console i walk up and switch the controller ports, or if its on a pc, i pull him away on his whellie-chair.

There are just some games that are way more fun with more than one person, like LBP. Sure it might be a bit more frustrating thanks to the camera but it's just sooooo much more fun, especially multiplayer on the same console rather than over the net. It's best to be able to see them sitting there with their tongue hanging out the side of their mouth ;-)
