Star Wars History

Anyone remember the original Star Wars arcade game?

There was nothing like the feeling of blasting tie fighters out of space and sending Darth Vaders ship spiralling out of control.

Star Wars Dogfight

Then you get the rush of speeding through the Death Star's trench to launch your torpedo into the ventilation shaft while lasers are blasting past your ship, dodging barriers and trying to stay calm as you finally take that last shot, the win or lose shot, lol.

Trench Run

I can't remember how many coins i've thrown into that machine, and i'm sure Mr. Lucas made heaps from it, lol.

But now most games released are force related, or fps, and the occasional dogfight doesn't seem to give me that same old adrenaline rush that the old coin-op machine gave me.

For something new, they should create a TIE Fighter pilot working his way up the ranks through flying and battle skills.  Try playing the bad side for a change, and see if blasting X-Wings and Y-Wings into oblivion gives that same rush the old coin-op gave me

Looks oldschool. Too bad I didn't play it. My first game played was Croc.

All "old school" arcade games were fun, have not been to an arcade for years.

that was sooo hi-tech when it came out.
it was like the future.

there was a PC game called tie fighter that had you play as a tie-fighter pilot, kicking all kinds of rebel scum's arse. it was rad.
i remember playing it online (or x wing v tie) when you had to connect with dos promts. lame.

Seems like a waste of money. You don't seem to get any kind of reward for completing it. But then again i haven't played it so what do i know?
