Gifts for the non-gamer

Ayo wazzup? Did you read the best of the blogs #13 about Game Play Spoilers? It's been a while since my last blog, Misa got upset about some of the comments made last time. Took a while to get over it. Had two weeks of this face:

"He said I looked like a Tranny"

Heh, anyway. So Christmas is less than two weeks away and I've done no shopping. I always like to wait until the last minute. Makes things more exciting. I find it's pretty easy to buy gifts for people who are gamers. Just read this article and pick something off it. EASY!

But what about the non-gamers? You could always try to get them into gaming, like I did with my girlfriend Misa. I bought her a Nintendo Wii. I thought it was a good iead at the time, but she did not really understand how the motion sensor controller worked.

FAIL! Misa's attempt at playing Animal Crossing.

So to avoid such embarrassing situations I've made a list of gifts for the non-gamer.

Music - everyone likes music. Crazy Frog's Crazy Christmas Edition is a really good idea, but of course you run the risk of buying someone a gift they already have. So check out their CD collection before making your purchase. In the likely event they already have this album another good music related gift is a MP3 player. You could go for an Ipod but I have found the MP3 players from DSE (I'm not allowed to say d*ckSmith) are much more user friendly and cheaper.

Baking - Nothing says I love you like a nice batch of freshly make cookies, awwww <3. As long as you can read and follow instructions you should have no trouble whipping up something tasty. Put it in a nice basket or something with a bow on top to create a perfect gift. If you lack the skills to even boil water, don't worry you can always go down to your local bakery and buy something to pass off as your own.

Perfume or Cologne - Everyone smells. Not always in a good way. Perfume or Cologne is cheap and always useful. It's an easy way to give someone a subtle hint that they smell bad without making them feel embarissed.

A Photo - This is a cheap and easy idea. All you do is get a nice photo of yourself (not one of those "emo" or "try hard" ones some of you have as your bebo profile picture) and put in in a nice frame. This is a good gift for you parents or partner. You could even make the frame yourself.

And remember... SMILE

Calendar or diary - 2009 is almost here so one of the more useful gifts you could give is a calendar or diary. There is a calendar for everyone, from nice landscapes for your parents to dodgy ones for your brother. It can be used to pretty up that blank wall in the kitchen. Christmas morning will be so much fun as they spend it planning out each day in detail for 2009!

Money - gift vouchers seem like a good idea but they are not as useful as you may think. Sure they look nice and come in a neat little card, but you can only use them at selected retailers, and usually come with an expiry date. Money can be use pretty much anywhere; it has not expirey date and can be exchanged for any sort of goods or service you can think of. Good for those boxing day sales. You can even combine it with money you already have to purchase something worth more than the initial amount you were given. WOW!

Who said money can't buy happiness and love? That dudes got it made.

So that’s just a few easy gift ideas for the non-gamer. Have fun shopping! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all that crap.

Aiiiight laters.

the baking idea is good. if they had let my blog through you would all know how to make cookies.

hey wait a minute this blog isn't related to games how did you get past the "not relevant" message I always get. Or is that just me that gets that?

I'm trying to think of a way to combine them all together... Would framed cookies that look like yourself, that smell of cologne and sing songs on the theme of calendars work, if you stashed money inside them? Pretty sure you could wrap all that up in a bow.
I dunno, I'm too sleepy to think properly..!
