Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X.

6/10

...the republican who has never been in the military yet writes a few books and the war-nerds eat them up like it was strawberry flavoured crack, oh yeah that guy.

I hated GRAW 2, Rainbow Six Vegas was the worst shooter I've played next to the 360's port of F.E.A.R., and Splinter Cell was a great idea that became a stagnant repetitive cash cow.

So what did I think of H.A.W.X.? I thought it was a well rounded game that could be described as the first step into the genre for newcomers and the occasional Microsoft Flightsim fan.

There are teething issues, such as boring gameplay, but that can be countered with LIVE co-op mode which helps you breeze through the missions. Lock on your missile, press A, next target surmises every attack you'll make. There's a large array of Jets with different strengths and weaknesses that count for squat. The multiplayer is the worst multiplayer I've had the pleasure of next to Saint's Row. There is a mode of flight were you can disable the guidance system which is not only hard to use (poor camera work) but also unnecessary.

But still the missions are ok, and the graphics are fine, the story is strange and inconsistent but not annoying.

It's a rental, and a purchase for the flight fans. But my biggest issue is the Tom Clancy franchise, they have a habit of make boring games with stories that could be written by any 20 year old who's watched a few war films.

Who keeps financing these guys?
