Why do NZers fail to recognise NFL as a half decent sport?

Perhaps because it isn't really a sport. I think of it as mainly a territory based version of chess, just with a ball. When I first played it I knew nothing about NFL, having played it for over a month now I wait in earnest for Maddens next installment, Madden NFL 09, which comes out next month.

While it seems quite difficult at first, the game is designed so that you can learn on the job as such. Only when you play it for yourself can you appreciate the hidden attraction of what really is a simple game.
