Alone In The Dark
Published Sunday 3 Aug 2008 12:09pm | Nintendo WiiI can't tell whether this game was designed to be as irritating as it is or whether the developers were deluded enough to think that they were creating a masterpiece.
The game first starts with some rather dodgy graphics and the need to constantly press the "blink" button. This clears up the screen and your character is able to focus more clearly on other characters in the room. Whilst this doesn't sound so bad, the need to always "blink" gets really old, really fast. Especially after the first 5000.
I admit that I didnt play this game for very long after the initial 15 minutes as the graphics were pretty poor, and the need to blink every 5 seconds just put me off. There was also a sequence where you had to climb down some elevator cable before the elevator dropped on your character. For some lame reason, he kept falling off which irritated me even more.
The PS2 version may have been a better buy as it is cheaper. It certainly isn't worth the $109. All in all I was pretty disappointed with this game and would only recommend it if you came accross it in the clearance bin!
