Major Japanese developers have announced significant backing for Nintendo DS, the innovative portable video game system from Nintendo that will revolutionise the video game industry. Some 32 companies, including Sega, Capcom, Konami, Square Enix and Namco, have a total of 64 games in development for Nintendo DS.

Some of the games in development include; Dragonball Z, Viewtiful Joe series, Dynasty Warriors, Castlevania, Yu-Gi-Oh! And Pacman. While the exact names of these games aren't confirmed, they are some of the big releases planned by the Japanese companies.

The breadth and depth of this support demonstrates the enthusiasm that developers have for Nintendo DS, a hand-held video game system that offers new ways to play with features like dual screens, a touch screen, wireless capabilities and voice-recognition abilities. These features give developers new tools to create rich, evolved, social game experiences never before possible.

Software companies worldwide have more than 120 Nintendo DS games in development. Nintendo will announce a lineup of games from Western developers shortly. In the coming months, Nintendo also will announce the launch date, price and complete launch lineup of games for Nintendo DS.
