Microsoft has announced it will reveal the New Zealand launch details for Xbox 360 on Tuesday 22nd November 2005, to coincide with US launch activity.
Xbox 360 ushers in a quantum leap in gaming and a whole new era in home entertainment and connectivity.
- New realism: Xbox 360 plays games in high definition (HD) with 720p/1080i output and full surround sound, with a 20GB detachable hard drive for downloading content and saving games. The amazing power of Xbox 360 means sharper, smoother, more detailed graphics and the most realistic gaming experiences ever. It’s the closest thing to starring in your own movie.
- Next-generation games: The biggest names in publishing are creating a new breed of games for Xbox 360. There’s a huge range of mind-blowing titles at launch including Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo: Elements of Power, Project Gotham Racing 3 and many more. All the intensity and action that gamers expect will be taken to unprecedented heights with Xbox 360 – with never-before-seen levels of depth and detail, and all in high definition.
- wireless freedom: The new generation doesn’t want to be tied down. The sleek, sexy Xbox 360 comes standard (not Xbox 360 Core System) with purpose-built wireless controllers to ensure you feel every bump, blast, crash and smash – even from 9 metres away.
- New ways to compete: Simply plug a broadband connection into Xbox 360 and open up unlimited worlds through Xbox Live online game service. With real-time voice and video chat coming soon, you’ll even be able to make friends with your opponents – no matter where they are in the world. The Silver subscription service lets you chat online, share gamer profiles, and send and receive text and voice messages. Plus, you can download demos and trailers along with new game levels, maps, weapons and skins, as well as games from Xbox Live Arcade. Gold subscribers also get access to multiplayer gaming, as well as worldwide tournaments, the chance to battle celebrities online and to win prizes.
- Total home entertainment: From DVDs, CDs and MP3s to photos and videos – Xbox 360 does it all. MP3 players, digital cameras and Windows XP PCs plug into Xbox 360 USB 2.0 ports to stream music and pictures through any home entertainment system. Plus there’s the option of wireless streaming of music, video and pics stored on Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005-based PCs.
