Square Enix Teasing New "The World Ends With You" Project

Square Enix have launched a new teaser website that seems to suggest a sequel to The World Ends With You is in the works. A popular Nintendo DS RPG, the original TWEWY (2008) was generally very highly regarded by fans and critics alike, earning an impressive 88 out of 100 on metacritic.

The suggestion that this might be TWEWY 2 (or, at least, a related game) is backed up by the fact that the character design is listed in the source code of the page as being by Tetsuya Nomura and Gen Kobayashi; Gen Kobayashi was the lead character art designer on TWEWY.

Nomura - the creative producer on the original game - was also quoted in April, saying "Right now, there is nothing I can say [about The World Ends With You]. There might be something."

The countdown on the teaser site ends at just after midnight this coming Sunday; come Monday morning, we should have a clearer idea of what Square Enix have in store.
