With Nintendo's latest handheld, the 3DS XL, just about to hit the streets, we've checked in with the nation's retailers to find out who's got the best deal on the device. The RRP, set by the Australian arm of Nintendo, is AU$249.95 (which currently works out at around $323).

As usual, we expect that retailers will look to compete with each other leading right up to the release of the XL, so be sure to check back on this article from time to time to see who is currently offering the best deal.

The system is available in three colours at launch; Red + Black (available worldwide), Blue + Black (Europe, Australia, and North America), and Silver + Black (Europe, Australia, and Japan). Unless otherwise noted, the prices in the list are for whichever of the three colours you prefer.

Additionally, if you see a price we haven't got listed, or an update to one we do have, please let us know in the comments!

Ordered by price, lowest first:

  1. $294.00 - JB Hi-Fi
  2. $299.00 - Bond + Bond
  3. $329.00 - Dick Smith
  4. $329.00 - The Warehouse
  5. $329.99 - Mighty Ape
  6. $329.99 - Noel Leeming
  7. $348.00 - EB Games
  8. unknown - Harvey Norman

SO stoked with that JBHifi price. It means I only have $244 left to pay on mine this Thursday.

I cannot find the 3DS XL on the JB HiFi online website. Can you post the link to JB HiFi online website, for those of us that are not in the main centres.
I don't see anyone offering any deals. I was able to pick a blue one up today early, guy in a local store just got a few in and was willing to sell it to me anyway, but it was a blue one so I passed on it, waiting for silver. Yeah, no deals anywhere, guy said their margin was just $1 when he tried to reduce the price.
Fingers crossed for release day for a deal, but at this stage I think that anyone will have to have high hopes.

JB's website is a bit basic, and doesn't have much gaming content on it. Their price was discovered by calling them. I suspect it will be published in a catelogue later this week; if it helps, I could scan that for you?

Also, Bond + Bond have lowered their price; if you have one of those near you, they might be a good solution :)

Thanks heaps for you reply, and good find for Bond and Bond, as many more people will have that store compared to JB HiFi. Let hope first thing tomorrow morning there are some deal e.g. discounted with a game or two would be great. Man the stores are cutting it fine with the 3DS XL launch, I guess it is evolution and not revolution.
