Sony and developers United Front Games have announced the release date for LittleBigPlanet Karting, a PS3 racing game featuring both Sackboys and the series' signature customization ability.

Releasing across Europe between the 7th and 9th of November, details for the downunder release - while yet to be confirmed - are expected to be around the same time. We've requested confirmation from Sony Computer Entertainment New Zealand and will bring you the details as soon as we have them.

Additionally, today's announcement includes information about the pre-order bonuses and Special Edition version of the title, the latter of which will include some exclusive content that is yet to be announced.

Pre-ordering the game will unlock the "Game Maker Pack", which includes:

Digital pre-order bonus items for LittleBigPlanet Karting

  • Dress Sackboy up as
    • A racing car driver
    • A mascot of developer United Front Games
    • or as legendary PlayStation VP Kevin Butler
  • Then shatter the lap times in
    • A racing car kart
    • An arcade machine kart
    • Or an executive golf buggy kart

Availability will vary by retailer and locale; we'll let you know what the details are for New Zealand as soon as we're aware of them.

YAAAAAAYY! Not so sure about the preorder bonuses, there'll probably be plenty of customisation options anyway with more released as DLC, but whatever.

I have been in the beta for this for about 2 weeks now. its alot of fun. But its pretty much modnation racers 2 with a little big planet skin.. i just hope that they use the same feature that little big planet 2 had where it imports objects from the previous games (includeing DLC) into the new 1. Because if they left this out of LBP Karts it would be a deal breaker for me..
