Sony have kicked off the "Summer" sale, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog overnight. Running from the 1st of August (today) through September 5th, there are offers that run the duration of the sale and some that are available for a limited time only.
The limited-time-only deals, starting with FIFA 12, break down like this:
- Deal 1 – 1-4 August
- Deal 2 – 5-8 August
- Deal 3 – 9-12 August
- Deal 4 – 13-16 August
- Deal 5 – 17-20 August
- Deal 6 – 21-24 August
- Deal 7 – 25-28 August
Details as to what each deal will be, other than the first (FIFA 12), were not included in today's announcement.
There are additional bonuses for PlayStation Plus members, too, such as the inclusion of the Euro 2012 DLC for free with the purchase of FIFA 12 while it's on sale.
Deals span several PlayStation platforms, including: full PS3 games, PS3 DLC, PS one classics, PSP games, minis, and more.
The sale doesn't appear to be live on PSN just yet, but NZGamer.com expects that it will kick off in New Zealand once the store updates this evening.

How is it the person who actually works for PlayStation wasn't aware of this
I'm a bit skeptical... though by the sounds of it, PS+ members are in for a treat. Hope there's some add-ons I may have missed on sale.
Steam sale rip? This could either be really cool or really gimmicky.
