Fishlabs have announced that a "full HD" version of their critically acclaimed space-trading action game, Galaxy on Fire 2, is headed to Windows-based PCs late next month. It will be available both as a boxed, retail package, and as a digital download on Steam and Origin.
The PC version of the game is being published in conjunction with bitComposer Entertainment AG, the German team behind recent releases like Jagged Alliance and Drakensang Online.
”The PC release of Galaxy on Fire 2 Full HD is particularly special for us,” says Michael Schade, CEO of Fishlabs Entertainment, “because we’ve all grown up playing the timeless sci-fi classics for countless hours on our PCs. Hence it feels just great to know that our flagship title will soon also be available on that platform, after it has already successfully set foot on iOS and Android in the past."
"With bitComposer we’ve found a very competent and experienced partner for our adventurous journey into PC territory and we hope that the PC gamers are already burning to take over the role of the hot-headed space war hero Keith T. Maxwell and set the galaxy ablaze with their keyboard, mouse or gamepad!”
From the press release:
In Galaxy on Fire 2 Full HD the player will not only be able to explore a vast, living galaxy with more than 20 different star systems, 100 individual space stations and 30 fully customizable space ships, but he will also be able to follow a rich and engrossing story line with full English voice acting.
The title’s epic plot centres on the protagonist Keith T. Maxwell’s bold and daring adventures in a war-torn galaxy governed by four different factions, namely the Terrans, the Vossk, the Nivelians and the Midorians. Due to a malfunction of his hyper drive, Keith T. Maxwell is catapulted through space and time. 35 years later, he awakens at the far end of the galaxy, where he soon realizes that quite a lot has changed during his unintentional absence.
An aggressive and particularly devious alien menace known as Voids threatens the fragile peace between the different alien races by launching devastating raids on freighters and convoys of all factions. And Keith T. Maxwell is the only one who can stand up to this seemingly invincible enemy and save the universe from its impending descent into chaos.
The game includes a story mode, as well as an infinite number of freelance missions, with 36 achievements also adding to the title's longevity.
Galaxy on Fire 2 Full HD releases in late August.
