Microsoft have announced a new promotion called The Great Kiwi Xbox Game Sale. Starting today, the "all-out, mid-winter sale of the biggest and best titles in gaming" can be found at major retailers and online stockists throughout the country.
"The middle of winter is a great time for a games sale and we have a blockbuster line-up to choose from", commented Steven Blackburn from Xbox New Zealand. "We think we’re on to a winner and when Kiwis grab top titles such as Halo Reach or Kinect Dance Central 2 for a steal, we’re sure they’ll agree too.”
The deals noted in today's announcement include Forza 4 and Gears of War 3 for $49.95, while recent Kinect titles Disneyland Adventures and Kinect Sports 2 are temporarily reduced to $39.95.
It's not just Microsoft published titles in the sale, apparently, with games from Ubisoft, EA, and Warner Bros. also included (in particular, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, FIFA 12, and Batman: Arkham Asylum were all described as being "heavily" reduced).
Retailers listed as being involved in the promotion include: Harvey Norman, Bond & Bond, Dick Smith Electronics, EB Games, JB Hi-Fi, Mighty Ape, Noel Leeming, and The Warehouse.
Games on Demand Sale
There's also a Games on Demand sale happening at the moment, with a number of (mostly older) titles heavily discounted in an effort to get you in the buying mood. The Games on Demand sale ends on July 3rd, so if you want any of the titles, you've got about a week to snap 'em up.
