New Super Mario Bros. 2 Dated for NZ

Nintendo have announced the release date for New Super Mario Bros. 2, the next iteration of the popular 2D platformer on Nintendo 3DS. Headed to retail in New Zealand from August 18th, New Super Mario Bros. 2 will also be the first "full" 3DS game to be available for purchase direct from the Nintendo eShop (all future Nintendo-published games are planned to be available both physically and digitally.)

In New Super Mario Bros. 2, Bowser has once again kidnapped Princess Peach, but this time, Mario has a new objective. The Mushroom Kingdom is bursting with more gold coins than ever before and it's up to players to collect as many coins as possible throughout their adventure.

Every level is filled with golden opportunities, such as gold rings that turn enemies into valuable gold versions and a Gold Flower that gives Mario the ability to turn almost anything in his path into coins. The game records all the coins players collect throughout the game, so completing a level is only part of the fun!

Additionally, players can play through the game with a friend, as New Super Mario Bros. 2 supports cooperative multiplayer over a local wireless connection.
