Ubisoft have announced that Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will be released on October 30 exclusively for the Sony PlayStation Vita.
Gamers play as the series’ first female protagonist, Aveline. A woman of conviction, Aveline is fighting for freedom in 18th century New Orleans – a city on the brink of a rebellion as the Spanish Empire imposes its new rule.
From the press release:
Assassin’s Creed III Liberation also features Vita-specific controls, making the most of the system’s front and rear touch panels, cameras and gyroscope. These include distinctive combat, character interaction, deciphering and traversal controls – all delivering an immersive handheld Assassin’s Creed experience. Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will also bring a unique multiplayer experience to the series exclusively tailored for the Sony PlayStation Vita.
“The release of Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will be the series' most ambitious handheld offering to date,” said Geoffroy Sardin, chief EMEA sales and marketing officer at Ubisoft/Tony Key, US senior vice-president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft. “Combining the console-like experience with Sony PlayStation Vita exclusive features, Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will be a leading example of what gamers should expect from a handheld experience."
PlayStation fans who pick up both Assassin’s Creed III Liberation for the Sony PlayStation® Vita and Assassin’s Creed III for the Sony PlayStation 3 this holiday will receive exclusive content, including an in-game version of Connor’s tomahawk, an exclusive character skin, a multiplayer character and a complete upgrade of all ammunition pouches.
Assassin’s Creed III Liberation will launch October 30th in stores and on the PlayStation Network for Sony PS Vita.
