JB Hi-Fi in Australia Selling Parallel Imported Games

Trans-Tasman retailer JB Hi-Fi has begun selling parallel imported or "grey market" videogames in Australia, NZGamer.com has learned this afternoon.

Games available in this way are heavily discounted compared to the normal prices in Australia, with games like Super Mario 3D Land listed for $19.98 - $50 less than the usual RRP for the game. Other bargain-basement prices included $49 for Modern Warfare 3 (normally $119) and $39.95 for Mario Kart 7 (normally $69.95).

"Obviously, we won't be able to get all games," a JB Hi-Fi manager told CNET Australia. Additionally, games purchased from outside of Australia may not allow a player in that country to purchase downloadable content due to differences in player and game region.

An Australian JB Hi-Fi representative we spoke to said that, while the imported games section was still technically a trial, the positive reaction they've received so far makes it likely that it's here to stay.

We approached JB Hi-Fi in New Zealand for comment, but they did not respond.

I wonder how this works with classification, in the past some R(MA15+ in Aussie) rated titles have had alterations to meet the ridiculous Aussie requirements. Those games are legally required to carry classification stickers as well are JB able to apply those?
