A new clothing label called Control Division has launched today on both sides of the Tasman, with apparel based more on the concept of gaming than on individual games. The label has been launched in conjunction with Mario Wynands and Tyrone McAuley, from Wellington-based Sidhe, as well as other industry veterans from Australia.

"We have been watching the space and planning the launch for quite a while", explained Control Division Chairman Richard Neal "We’ve built a culture in our brand that only comes from working with guys who know the industry."

The clothing range, a sample of which is shown below, is described as featuring "high quality fabrics, modern lines, and stylish designs by artists loyal to gaming culture".

"The explosive growth of video-game culture has created a platform to launch Control Division’s new fashion brand into worldwide markets. Control Division will provide gamers with stylish, quality clothing suitable to wear at home, down the street or to the club," Mr Neal said.

If you're keen to see the first collection, which is available in limited (fittingly described as "beta") quantities, the website for the label is up now at controldivision.com.

A girl modeling the shirts with no pants on? Really? They're just trying too hard with that one where her butt fills up most of the photo.

I think the point was that the guy (a gamer) was more interested in his game than her standing there with no pants.

But she's then gaming in no pants while the male games in pants? Hmmm...

Also, I got put off by:

- PS1 controller
- Unplugged headset for 360 (Doesn't look like any of the wireless models)
- A phone that does not look like the current generation of phones for gaming

Apart from that, the clothes aren't actually that bad.

D4nzy: The currency used on the site is the Australian dollar.

It's quite common for my partner & I to game post bedroom shenanigans, so the pant-less young lady there is very believable(not to mention pretty damn attractive!) As we have been spared the blokes lower region we can only speculate as to whether he has had time to chuck on some pants on. The wireless controller looks like one of the cheap Dualshock 3 Knock offs.

Not too sure about the T-shirts though, I'm more a GTA Made Me Do It type. These look a bit arty farty to me, could be wrong will see

Urgh, for the last time GIRLS WEAR PANTS WHEN GAMING. I'm so freakin' sick of those portrayals. That loses a lot of points from me, and the clothes aren't anything I'd look twice at in a shop anyway.
