SEGA have announced a unique cross-platform promotion between the iPad strategy game Total War Battles: Shogun and its big-brother title on PC, Total War: Shogun 2 – Fall of The Samurai. Players who manage to complete the iPad game will be awarded with a Steam code that lets them download the Sendai Clan Pack for the PC title.
The domain of Sendai was fiercely loyal to the incumbent Tokugawa Shogunate, and an important player in the Boshin war depicted in Fall of The Samurai. A noble people, the Sendai endured the ages of turmoil to emerge as respected tacticians and sublime diplomats.
The Sendai clan, a playable faction for owners of this new DLC, have the following (unique) traits:
- Tolerance (-3 unhappiness from differences of allegiance)
- Tact (+10 to diplomatic relations)
- Siegecraft (2-turn reduction to surrender time when besieging castles)
- Respect (-1 to resistance to occupation across all provinces)
Additionally, SEGA have also announced a new update that's in development for Total War Battles: Shogun. With it, players will be able to engage in "skirmish" encounters against the AI, on specially made maps. No details as to when this update will be made available were included in the announcement, however the main game is available now ($7.49, 266MB) as a universal application on the app store. It's also planned for release on "selected" Android devices soon, via the Google Play store.
