A little over a week ago, we dropped a trailer for Street Fighter X Tekken, in which you can see teasers that suggested both Pac-Man and Megaman were going to be coming to the PlayStation Vita version of the game. Capcom have confirmed this suggestion today, and in doing so have (probably) shattered the dreams of millions of Megaman fans the world over.
Yes, he's in the game - fully playable, all that good stuff. But his look... well, it might be true to the franchise (technically) but chances are good this isn't exactly what fans might have been expecting.
Instead of a character based on the in-game version of Megaman:

They've based the Street Fighter X Tekken character on the box art for the original version of the first game. Never seen it? It's not pretty, and couldn't even be described as such at the time - even by the low standards of cover design in 1987. Check it out:

Without further ado, then, here are the released screenshots of the (fat) man in question:
His character description, from the official website, reads:
"Known as a Digger, a person who digs up relics from the past for research. He is a hot-tempered man, but has a strong sense of justice and is also very polite. His weak point is that he is easily rattled when backed into a corner. He is always running around in a hurry due to the demands of his partner Roll, and this time he's been asked to travel to Antarctica to retrieve a mysterious box."
Pac-Man was also detailed, and his surprise was the fact that he's riding Mokujin - a Tekken character that's based on a martial arts training dummy.
Check him out:
His character bio, also from the official website, makes the 32-year-old character sound even odder than he already appeared:
"A living being whose origin and motive are wrapped in mystery. It is an omnivorous life form that consumes anything in its path. No matter what happens, its smile never leaves its face. It is not known what it is thinking or what its motives are, but it is certainly heading towards the box."
Additionally, it was revealed that the five exclusive Sony characters (the two here plus Toro, Kuro, and Cole McGrath from inFAMOUS) are actually coming to both the PS3 and Vita versions of Street Fighter X Tekken. The Xbox 360 version, despite the desires of the dev team to include either Master Chief or Marcus Fenix, will have no quirky additions to its regular roster.
