One of the most-requested new features of Valve's popular digital distribution platform, Steam, is finally here - sort of. As of today, you can download a beta version of a Steam app for both iOS devices and Android, which brings much of the functionality (outside of actually playing PC games, obviously) of the desktop version of the software to your pocket.
Functionality, according to the official website, includes seeing what your Steam buddies are up to and chatting with them, as well as buying games while you're out and about.
So why the "sort of" in the opening paragraph? Well, while anyone can download the app, doing so only opts you in to the beta process; you then have to be invited before you can actually use it.
