Steam, the digital distribution platform du jour on PC and Mac, is having a sale. A big sale. Anyone familiar with the service will know what this means; massive discounts and blown download caps.

The sale runs from now until July 10th, with new deals going up every single day. Not only that, but a bunch of the games have special achievements in them that, should you earn them, you'll be awarded with a prize ticket that you can then use while the sale is on to purchase special content for various steam-powered games. Complicated, viral, and fun (if that's your thing).

Some of today's highlights (all prices are in USD):

• Oblivion (game of the year edition) - $6.80

• THQ mega bundle ("hit collection"), with heaps of games (Darksiders, Metro 2033, Dawn of War II, Company of Heroes, Saints Row, Titan Quest etc etc etc) for $49.99, a discount of 83%!

• Back to the Future at 50% off, making it $12.49 for the bundle (or buy the Telltale Complete Pack for $49.99, a discount of 79%!)

For a full list of games in the sale or more information on the prize stuff, fire up Steam or head over to steampowered.com.
