Three weeks ago, we reported on an article in the Waikato Times in which numerous ill-informed individuals suggested Nintendo's recent Dead or Alive: Dimensions was tantamount to child pornography (it's not - Morgan's review, which goes up tomorrow, explains).
As a result of concerns raised by the general public, the game was resubmitted to the Australian Classification board (OFLC), who have today returned their verdict: M (it was originally rated PG). This is likely to trickle down to a similar rating in New Zealand, where it is also undergoing review.
The rating also includes the revised text "Violence and sexualised gameplay" - the revision being the removal of the word "Mild" from the beginning of the text.
Much ado about nothing? Or is this the system normalizing kiddy-fiddling? We think we know the answer but, as always, we'd like to know what you think - let us know in the comments.
