According to the magicbox, Sony have announced God of War Portable Collection for release in Asia on July 7.

The game is purported to be a port of the two PSP God of War games, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta - both of which were top notch entertainment (click each to see our reviews).

The games are said to have high resolution / enhanced graphics, however the screenshots at the link are described as "PSP screenshots in HD resolution, not the actual PS3 screenshots".

So, NZGamer.com readers - is this true? Is it "mega" or "meh"? Let us know in the comments!

Cheers to havicdavis for the tip!

As much a fan of God of War as I am, I think if you really want to play the portable versions that badly, get them on your PSP. I dont see them being able to do the PS3 justice, unless they can really crank it up in the graphics department, and offer the bundle at a low price. I think they would be better suited to a PSN download game only, when it's back up and running of course.

On the gaming front, i will be happy to get these games as i dont have a psp. However, this is one of the reasons that the psp has been unpopular in the west, good psp games are ported to ps3 to make money so there is no real need to buy a psp. Either way, I will still probably get it.

I already have Chains of Olympus but I'd much rather play Ghost of Sparta on my PS3, who cares if the graphics aren't PS3 quality?

YES! great news. I'll def grab this collection. I've never played Chain of Olympus or Gohost of Sparta. I was going to buy a PSP, not just for these two games, but decided against it, will wait and see how the NGP turns out.

Have wanted to play these two for ages. Was a bit gutted i couldn't, now i can. Really happy about this.

I wonder if this will be the NGPs first PSP1 Classics collection?
