Game Entertainment Ltd (GEP) announced today the development of Brotown for PS2 and Xbox. The game follows on from the highly successful season of Brotown on NZ television, which debuted in 2004.

Building on the powerful game engine that will be embraced by both gamers and people passionate about the show, the Australian game developer Apollo has spent over 9 months creating a great 3D adventure, with gameplay that reflects the shows appeal.

"We are extremely pleased to know a kiwi company will be developing our TV show into a game." said Oscar Knightly, Brotown Creator, "We have been watching as our 2D characters turn into 3D ones."

Adding to these comments Dave Fane, writer of the award winning show said, "We've hit a nerve with the show on New Zealand Television. We believe the show is a great reflection of NZ's multicultural environment."

Features of Brotown include :

  • Multiplayer online play for all platforms, allowing competitive and friendly play over the Internet
  • Play as all the Brotown Characters including Jeff da Maori, Vale, Valea, Sione and Mack
  • Mini Games including Morningside Madness, Dairy Dash and Street Stocka
  • Highly realistic, individually modelled likenesses of the show characters.

Thomas Bulfinch, Managing Director of Apollo, the development studio behind the title said, "We've had a blast making the game and taking the television show and bringing it to life on the console. We are committed to creating a title which fans of the show will enjoy for years to come".

Brotown is expected for release on PS2 and Xbox in December of 2005.
