Tomb Raider Trilogy Announced

Coming to PS3 on the 24th of March for $69.99 (RRP), Tomb Raider Trilogy follows the trend of up-ressing and bundling a bunch of classic titles into a PS3-exclusive re-release pack.

With many more than three Tomb Raiders existing, you might be wondering which ones are included... wonder no longer! The games are:

  • TOMB RAIDER Legend

  • TOMB RAIDER Anniversary

  • TOMB RAIDER Underworld

Intriguingly, Legend & Anniversary are specifically mentioned as having been "remastered in HD" despite both appearing on the Xbox 360 - itself an HD console. Presumably this version of Legend will include the intro movie, which was accidentally left out of the game when it was released on Xbox.

Three great games for $70 sounds like a bit of a steal to us - stay tuned for more news and our review as we close in on the end of the first quarter in just two short months.

Why didn't they do the original trilogy? Aren't these 3 the one's we dare not speak of?

Already own or owned all of these. Good for some though I suppose.

Great for PS3 owners who were previously shafted because neither TR Legend or TR Anniversary came out on PS3 even though they were released on every other platform under the sun?! The time to have done this would surely have been when TR Underworld came out for PS3 but I guess it's better late than never??

Only Legend, really. Anniversary is a great, if retconned remake and Underworld did the old formula well.

Platformers are generally losing out in favour of shooters though. That's why Uncharted keeps winning out in Uncharted vs. Tomb Raider discussions. They're actually two different genres, just using similar premises.

That new Tomb Raider origins game sounds very action-heavy to be honest. Kinda sucks =(.
