GTA San Andreas - Coming October 2004

Rockstar's latest game in the Grand Theft Auto series, "Grand Theft Auto San Andreas" now has its own site, located here, up and running. Although at the moment the site is just bare bones, it offers the options to sign up to the Grand Theft Auto mailing list, and the Rockstar Games mailing list. It also confirms what we all new already, the game will be released in October of this year.

Aswell as the mailing list, the website also featured three images of the upcoming hit game. And yes, these are the first images of San Andreas. Some interesting things to note include: 3D rims on the car, as opposed to the flat wheels in the previous GTA games. The character in image 2 is crouching down with the same pose that the main characters in GTA III, and Vice City had... main character possibilities? And of course you can't not notice the bike in image 3.

UPDATE: The following quote is taken from the Rockstar mailer, which was used to advertise the three new images. However it also had the first tidbits of the San Andreas storyline:

"Five years ago Carl Johnson escaped from the pressures of life in Los Santos, San Andreas.. .a city tearing itself apart with gang trouble, drugs and corruption; where film stars and millionaires do their best to avoid the dealers and gang bangers.

Now, it's the early 90s. Carl's got to go home. His mother has been murdered, his family has fallen apart and his childhood friends are all heading towards disaster.

On his return to the neighborhood, a couple of corrupt cops frame him for homicide. CJ is forced on a journey that takes him across the entire state of San Andreas, to save his family and to take control of the streets."
