It has been confirmed for both games that a 3D feature will be available. Call of Duty: Black Ops will feature stereoscopic 3D with Treyarch Mark Lamia saying "Development of stereoscopic 3D began as an R&D project, but once we saw what the technology brought to the Call of Duty experience, what a great fit and how immersive it was, we knew that we had to develop it for Black Ops."
Lamia believes that 3D will bring a whole different experience to playing Black Ops, possibly the best "Aiming down the sights of your weapons, flying in helicopters, rappelling down mountains, and moving through highly detailed environments are just some of the awesome experiences you will have in 3D with Black Ops.”
The 3D feature will be available on all platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) and in a variety of game modes in Black Ops "We made sure the experience is seamless for gamers to use with a simple menu option to enable stereoscopic 3D or disable it at any time whether playing in the single player campaign, multiplayer or Zombies."
Also jumping on the 3D bandwagon is Prince of Persia. Ubisoft has announced a HD package that will include Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia: Warrior Within and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones on a single Blu-Ray disc. This package will be a PS3 exclusive and has been fully remastered in 720p HD that includes new textures and anti-aliasing. All three games can also be played in stereoscopic 3D.
The Prince of Persia package will be released next month on November 19th. However the release has only been confirmed for Europe.
