As of today, those with a Mac will have access to Left 4 Dead 2. This adds another game to the already impressive list of games available for the Mac on Steam. Notable games already accessible include Team Fortress 2, Portal, and Half-Life 2.

Those who already bought Left 4 Dead 2 on the PC, will also have free access to the game on their Mac. Simply by logging into Steam on your Mac, will give you permission to download Left 4 Dead 2 free of charge. As a bonus for both PC and Mac Left 4 Dead 2 players, the new DLC “The Sacrifice” and “No Mercy” is also available for download. These downloadable campaigns are also free of charge. However for Xbox players wishing to have access to the new DLC will have to pay $7 USD.

Unfortunately the original Left 4 Dead has been delayed for the Mac with Valves saying “it’s running a little late”, however it should be out, according to Valve “in time to celebrate Halloween”. Nonetheless, for Mac users, Left 4 Dead 2 is a good deal, even for first time players, considering it will include the two new campaigns as well as the first campaign “The Passing”.
