Mate, that is not any kind of step up from the original 360 controller, which I like a helluva lot (d-pad aside). That monochrome scheme is hideous - are colours really that uncool? Not sure what the concaved-thumbsticks mention is about as they are already like that. And the d-pad revision is about 4 years too late, not that it matters as no game assigns any major function to it. At least it's still way better than the PlayStation controller.

$110 for controller and play and charge kit. Yes. Considering it's $90 for a controller and $40 for a play and charge

bro I was just being sarcastic, of course some different colours and plus d-pad/old d-pad isn't even close to being a step up
but I have to disagree with the controller being better then the playstation controller. I would rate both of them equal for me as I find it really easy to adjust from closer to further away joysticks as many other people find it difficult

So not worth the price over the original controller.
I like the normal controller, never really had many probs with dpad except for maybe the odd incorrect or non responsive weapon change in gears of war 1/2
As for ps3 vs 360 controller, they both have positives and negatives, although i slightly prefer the 360 due to comfort and what feels more natural with stick placement and for my hand size.

I don't get the negativety. This is an improvement. The old d-pad was pretty bad expecially for fighting games and buying controllers has always been expensive at full rrp.

Maybe because the modern day game seems to have become so cynical.
If there hadn't been a change then we would have another forum where people would be neging out about Microsoft not listening to people about the controllers shortcomings.
Also if anyone is wondering why the monochrome, gamepad controllers are for hardcore gamers now, you shouldn't need coloured buttons to identify which one to press, if your a casual gamer Microsoft has Kinetic for you, and that should make the $110 price tag on this a little easier to swallow :P

RRP on Dual Shock 3 is the same. Pretty easy to get them $$$ cheaper though. Sure it'll be the same for these. Personally though I think the redesign is rubbish on all fronts. You should never make such an "interface" change within a hardware generation?! In fact I think you should think very carefully when making such changes from one gen to the next. There doesn't seem to be any thought gone into this?! It's superficial change for changes sake?!
