Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter is predicting that the Nintendo's 3DS handheld will cost USD$249 (NZD$339) at launch. VG247 reports that Pachter believes the handheld will be revolutionary enough to justify the high price tag.

"We view the 3DS as a revolutionary device, and expect its launch to spur hardware and software sales," Pachter said. "Due to the unique 3DS experience previewed by Nintendo at E3 this year, we believe Nintendo will be able to sell millions of units even at a price of upwards of $250. From a software perspective, we believe Nintendo will be able to increase DS software prices, from a blended average of around $25 today to over $29 next year"
Nintendo previously said the 3DS would be out in all countries by March, 2011.
The predicted price places the 3DS at USD$80 more than the DSi, which launched at USD$169 and about NZD$400.

$339 is far too low. I don't think its gonna go on the market with that price...I predict at least $450-$500...but then again I'm not an analyst...
