HES today announced the Australasian release of Sidhe Interactive's Rugby League 3 for the Nintendo Wii.
“We have all worked incredibly hard on this game building on past successes to bring greater depth, content and quality to the experience" said David Robles, Business Development Manager for HES. "We are very proud of what we have achieved with Rugby League 3 on Wii, it's a great step forward for the franchise"

Doubt it, they developed for Wii because it was about as cheap as PS2/Xbox in development costs.

I think the reason that Sidhe gave for developing this on Wii instead of 360/PS3 was because Wii sales are higher than 360/PS3... But that's only what they are saying though...Doubt it, they developed for Wii because it was about as cheap as PS2/Xbox in development costs.
Also, there will be a Rugby League game coming out on the 360/PS3 in the future... Mario has said that... Just not RL3 since it's a Wii exclusive... Sidhe may not even do the 360/PS3 League game...

Stop with rugby coming to Wii. The first developer to bring a rugby game to the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 are going to find themselves very popular in New Zealand...
