Harmonix has announced the development of Rock Band 3 via the Rock Band Facebook page. Although details are slim in the announcement, it has been confirmed that MTV Games are publishing it and Electronic Arts are handling distribution - we might even see a local release in 2010.

According to the announcement it's getting a world wide release later this year. It remains to be seen if that includes New Zealand, after not only waiting a year for Rock Band 2 (and its somewhat muted entrance), but getting a sequel (Beatles Rock Band) before it arrived.

Yeah NZ probably isnt considered on 'worldwide release' lol this will be here in a few years more than likely. If it did come this year the ppl that waited and bought RB2 will be pissed!
I hope it comes on time :/ Beatles did so hopefully they will keep it up.
Never was a fan of rock band, GH was the orginal, RB came in with other instruments, GH copied it with its instruments, and so forth.
Yes, I am unfamiliar with Rockband, because I have been living in a cave on mars for the last 5 years with my eyes shut and my fingers in my ears.

Shows you have done your research -_-. Harmonix created the Guitar Hero franchise and only made 1, 2, and 80's. (1 + 2 easily being the best in the franchise). Then MTV bought Harmonix and they created Rock Band and took the risk of having a full band game. Neversoft started making the GH games and they turned to crap fast after 3. Harmonix were the guys who started the craze, though of course there was Guitar Freaks before that.
