1up.com is reporting that Warner Brothers Interactive has acquired Batman: Arkham Asylum developer, Rocksteady Games for an undisclosed sum, giving them full control over development and a solid developer for future Batman titles - including the Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 project already in development.

“We are proud to strengthen our association with WBIE, a world class publisher that we have enjoyed working with since we began developing Batman: Arkham Asylum,” said Jamie Walker, studio director, Rocksteady Studios. Sefton Hill, games director, added, “The Rocksteady team is very much looking forward to creating more great games based on widely recognized Warner Bros. brands like Batman.”
The original title was a critical success - scoring a 9.0 on NZGamer.com - so this is a big move towards ensuring future Batman titles will be as high quality as Arkham Asylum. It's also possible that Warner Bros could put them to work on a certain franchise they purchased last year.

Smart move.
Looks like Warner Bros. and the new DC Entertainment sector are moving in the right direction.
