Sega has announced Sonic The Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 as the official name of Project Needlemouse. The game will be split into an episodic downloadable titles for the Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Check out the launch trailer:
The Wii version will feature 480p Enchanced Definition, while the HD consoles will have full 1080p HD - presumably you'll be able to see more of the glorious 2D landscape giving a slight advantage as you'll have a few more seconds to react to an upcoming hole or enemy.
With the recent success of New Supermario Bros. Wii this seems like smart move on Sega's part.

Heheheh...grammar error. "Slite" equals "Slight".
Anyway! Interested in seeing where this goes. Hopefully there will be some enhancements to the overall gameplay that give it a fresh new spin.
Thank god for no Tails! Sad for Knuckles though...
By the time someone else reads this...no doubt the spelling mistake will be fixed, so I'll call myself out as an a$$ :P
LOVE YOU NZG...

"I love the term 'Comic Mischief' as a rating class."
PolCorrectness gone mad, and the norm in US of A. The author Bill Bryson reckons he saw a rating for a movie once that said just "Language". What? "Language", in a movie? Better warn people about that.
Also, that sucks if these are to be download only. Some of us still actually like hard copies. Hard copies don't get RRoD and corrupt themselves.

Wonder what a 1080p Sonic looks like :)
Strange how some games are going episodic?

It'll get a hard copy I reckon. This is Sega testing us to see if we will put our money where our mouths are. If it sells well as DLC, they'll put it out for the mass market -- probably once all the episodes are out."I love the term 'Comic Mischief' as a rating class."

Unless this is utter, utter crap, everyone needs to buy this game just to show Sega this is the stuff they should stick to.
