Recently at Spike's VGAs, Harmonix announced that the next Rock Band title will be based around punk-rock band Green Day.
The title will feature likenesses of Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool, as well as their favourite vanues and a soundtrack spamming their career.

Green Day's front man, Billie Joe Armstrong had this to say:
“We’ve worked with the Rock Band team in the past year to enable our fans to play tracks from 21st Century Breakdown, and we’re excited to now be working on a game, spanning our entire career. We want people to fire this up, choose their favorite Green Day tracks, and play along with us as Rock Band avatars so they can feel what it's like to perform on stage as Green Day."

WHY? I don't mind Green Day, but there has been so many rumors flying around for Rock Band Queen. And Queen would just be so much more better. Expecially if it is going to follow up The Beatles.

I don't know how to look at this. I mean Harmonix managed to get The Beatles, of all bands, to agree to star in their last game. Do we look at Green Day as a concession that such a signing was a fluke?
Or, on the other hand, do we look at this as a statement that Green Day is a timeless rock act on par with the greats such as Queen, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd?
Both situations are tragic and laughable, really...

Eww. Don't think Green Day deserved this at all. They don't match up to the fame and Popularity of The Beatles or even Metallica. And i would love to see a Rock Band Queen. Maybe next year buddy.

Dookie was the first CD I ever bought back in 1993. I still listen to Greenday and understand that most of the hate for them comes from their image these days rather than their music. However in saying that alot of their songs are just catchy 3 chord punk numbers that probably arent gonna be much fun to play rockband along to.
Im sorry to offend everybody but, I like this =] I like green day alot and i would enjoy playing this. But yeah if you dont like Green Day as much as I do , I can definately see your guys perspective
I head part of the career mode has you putting down your instruments and preaching about the environment to your audience. During the entire time, you only use the green button.

there are alot of people who would buy it, so they milk it.
Personally, i'm not a massive fan of Green Day.
I enjoyed the beatles rockband, it was a brilliant game, with brilliant tunes.
