With the summer gaming blockbusters dominating the gaming news of late, one game flying slightly under the radar has made a big impression.
Gearbox's Borderlands has been an instant hit, with its meld of first person combat and role playing elements producing an experience not seen since Oblivion. Here at NZGamer we have been equally as impressed, check out Jess' review here.
The release has been so successful that Gearbox are already thinking about a possible sequel and online additions to the game.

Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford said had this to say
"Everyone here loves the franchise, and it seems like the public is really coming back with praise and love. So yeah, if everything makes sense, Borderlands 2 seems like a no-brainer to me".
With Gearbox riding high off Borderland's success will we see a drop off in some of their other, much loved franchises - such as Brothers in Arms?
Answers can be found in a revealing interview with Mike Neumann, Gearbox's creative director, which sheds some light on the future direction of the developer.
I don’t think it’s a never-say-never thing, but – without confirming or denying anything – we didn’t quite finish out the story of Baker and his squad, and it seems logical that we might revisit that in the future. I hope we do, personally. But time will tell, obviously.
Time will tell. Until then, we can enjoy Borderlands (and its new downloadable content)

if they liked it that much they would've payed for it hahaha
Also, Gearbox were just plain silly to use Gamespy for this Game. You don't even need a CD Key to play online so it's almost encouraging piracy(I know some of my friends pirated it). Great Game if a little repetitive, and I'd love to see a sequel to refine the less interesting aspects of Borderlands.
Its only common-sense.
