Since the announcement of Super Street Fighter 4 a couple of days ago there has been some lively discussion as to whether Capcom are just taking gamers for a ride, or keeping the console version in line with the arcade releases.

Kotaku.com are reporting that, in an interview with website GamesReactor, Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono has silenced one side of the debate, telling the site: "So, unfortunately, I'm sorry to say to arcade fans out there: there won't be an arcade version of this,"
Before anyone cries “rip off”, let’s point out that DLC prices are usually static compared to stores, so a full release will drop in price eventually, potentially even below what you would pay for eight new characters and stages if they were DLC.

Update:
Super Street Fighter 4 Assistant Producer Natsuki Shiozawa has said in a blog post that they hasn't given up on an arcade release of Super Street Fighter 4.
She writes: "It's not that an arcade version of Super Street Fighter IV isn't possible. That's one thing I really want to get out there, that we never said to give up on an arcade version."
This just means it's possible, so there might be one if Capcom sees enough demand for it.

A bit like peoples love/hate of EB Games, vote with ya feet, don't buy it.
Is this supposed to make the situation better or worse, acuse I only see the worse side of this.
So it's not getting an arcade revamp, it's something that could obviously just be DLC.
I got a creeping suspicion T.Hawk and the "additional" characters were already created, then cut out of the final release so they could "add" (read: charge for) them later.

Possibly, but they have said all along that extra characters as DLC wouldn't be possible. They could be lying, and if they are that is mighty sh*tty of them.

To say the full release price will potentially drop to below DLC price is complete laughable rubbish. Most DLC on 360 is 800points, thats about $13-15. Even if it was Gears of War DLC for ALL DLC its 1600points or around $25, I dont see SSF4 going for $25 for quuuuuite awhile.
Look at all the Fallout3 DLC thats epic amount of work in it and its 800 each set.
Adding a few characters and stages would not cost that much or would be hard to apply into the game with DLC!
The way i see Capcom is the same as I see EB games lol

What Capcom meant by that was that they content wasn't already on the disc so they can't sell you overpriced unlock codes.

Apparently you're assuming that 8 characters would be cheaper as DLC. Ok let's look at the Yoda DLC for Soul Calibur 4. Frohim alone it cost about $8. 8 x $8 = $64 and that isn't taking into account the extra stages.

EB Games aren't evil, just stupid. Killzone 2 for $54, or pre-owned for $54.99. Um, how does that work exactly?
