Street Fighter 4 is Feeling Super

Capcom has confirmed the next Street Fighter as being an expanded version of Street Fighter 4. Titled Super Street Fighter 4, the new version is said to deliver eight additional fighters including T. Hawk, Dee Jay and Juri and several new stages.

In addition, Capcom said it will be released at a budget price and owners of the original Street Fighter 4 will get a few bonuses.

With over five versions and a countless number of ports of Street Fighter 2, this could be the first of many Street Fighter 4s.

Although this announcement comes less than a year after the original Street Fighter 4 arrived on our shores, the American release is Spring 2010 so it will be a while before it arrives here.

Keep it locked on NZGamer.com for the local release date and price.

Capcom are money grubbing bastards and they won't be getting a cent off me. Although I can't say I'm surprised. This the company that made you pay extra for difficulty modes.

This should be DLC. Nobody gives a sh*t about balance except the hardcore (and they're too small to be worthwhile anyway). All people do online is follow the Ken flowchart.

I hope this game fails miserably.

Also, I can't think of one "budget price" re-release that wasn't sold for full price in New Zealand. Morrowind: GOTY, Fable: The Lost Chapters, Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, etc...

I wonder if there will be as many SF4's as there were SF2? :P

I have always been a huge fan of Capcom. I love the games they make, but boy do they suck when it comes to ripping off consumers. This could easily be DLC, even the balancing could be patched in.

I would gladly pay for the DLC but this is one ride i'm not gonna take. Street Fighter 4 is good, but not worth owning two almost identical copies of.

I guess it's good for those who don't already own SF4, you know the people who aren't really fans...

Capcom are just going back to formula I reckon, Street Fighter 2 was a massive hit, and it was multi-edition... but basically the same game with a few additions. Maybe they think it will work again?
Difference is they are now appealing to the console player not the fish n chip shop arcade player, putting a few 20c in a machine (was in my day :P) is a tad diff to $120-150 for a game. They are going to shoot themselves in the foot eventually with this if they keep going. In this age this should be optional DLC, even if they go Super or Hyper or Turbo or whatever... DLC should have been the choice. Not realise a new game?!? dumbass if u ask me, I hope it flops to be honest.
