Activision has announced that Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is the latest artist to join the growing cast of playable artists in their popular rhythm action series.
In addition, he brings along two of his band's biggest hits - from Nevermind: Smells Like Teen Spirit and Lithium.
Tim Riley, Vice President of Music Affairs for Activision comments: “This is the first time the original recording of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ has ever been licensed in an entertainment property and we’re thrilled to offer Guitar Hero fans exclusive access to the unreleased live version of ‘Lithium.’”

Don't mistake your opinions for fact mate.

As Trent said - I wrote it. Johnny pwned it. (And TBH, Johnny did pwn it)
Johhny Cash - Hurt. Look it up.
It's all good. Kurt was awesome. I admire everything he did before his untimely demise. May he live forever via any medium avaliable.

I love people that take the internet so seriously
GH5 vs. Rockband = the best content that matters to peeps, the gear is the same, the gamers are basically the same, it comes down to the sheer about of people who wanna play as Kurt, Santana, Cash etc vs. The Beatles and the other exclusive content that EA have been able to secure. The minute one of them gets the ascendancy on exclusive content, is the day that one will 'win', cut the supply chain of any competitor FTW.

Im still very tempted!GH5 vs. Rockband = the best content that matters to peeps, the gear is the same, the gamers are basically the same, it comes down to the sheer about of people who wanna play as Kurt, Santana, Cash etc vs. The Beatles and the other exclusive content that EA have been able to secure. Its the only way new people are going to take notice and buy the product, it always comes down to exclusive content!
It is stuff like this that makes me hate activision more, they are putting 2 dead artists into their freaking game for publicity. Who said these people would want to be in it? It is just stupid. Also activision are trying way to hard to win the rhythm market and have like 4 games planned to be out before the end of this year. They need to sit back, put more quality into their releases cause every time I play one it just feels like a garbage version of RB.
Why do all the characters in these GH5 screens have a kind of glow around them? It looks like a Disney music video or something.

The wonderful world of Kurt Cobain - on weed.

Haha yeah. But what I meant was that all the screens including the Matthew Bellamy and Johnny Cash ones had the same glow.
Oh who am I kidding, they're all on drugs.

The gear is similar, the basic premise is the same, the content is superior in size and quality in RB, and the gameplay and charting is more authentic in RB.I agree, Ive never really thought about playing/purchasing Guitar Hero or Rockband, Until the Guitar Hero Metallica came out... Still though OMG cool you can play as rockstars in a game where YOUR supposed to be playing the rockstar. I wonder if GH could improve their product and secure a good library of music if they spent more time on the quality of gameplay over getting the rights to include spiffy likenesses of musicians in game. Probably not
