Grin Frowns, Ex-staff Form Outbreak

A couple of months ago we reported on massive staff cuts at the Swedish developer.

Since then it appears things went from bad to worse for Grin as Kotaku are reporting that the Bionic Commando/Terminator 4: Salvation developer has applied bankruptcy closed their doors for the last time.

It’s not all bad news however, as a few ex-Grin staffers have turned their frowns upside-down and formed a new studio called Outbreak. The new studio will reportedly focus on smaller projects for Xbox Live, PSN, PSPGo, iPhone and Windows Live.

HAH! You must be smoking some good stuff lately Munkah cause you're title are becoming classic!

As for this company, that's a pity. Yes, their release weren't ground-breaking, but they were good and c'mon, they assisted in getting Bionic Commando back out there. Applause for that really.

I hope not too many developers go down the route of developing only for XBL, PSN and so on. That's gonna be sh*t.

Confirmation they're done from the GRIN website:

"It is with a heavy heart we announce today that GRIN has been forced to close its doors. This as too many publishers have been delaying their payments, causing an unbearable cashflow situation.

After twelve years of hard work, employing hundreds of wonderfully talented men and women, it is over. It has been a great adventure and the GRIN family has experienced what few have.

Looking back at twelve years of games, titles such as Ballistics, Bandits, GRAW 1 & 2, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Wanted: Weapons of Fate, Terminator: Salvation, Bionic Commando and our unreleased masterpiece that we weren’t allowed to finish; it has been a great ride."

Damn...I didn't even know they did GRAW! What a loss...

Yeah, impressed Morg, good title, great pic!

Grin were actually rather promising despite the sh*tfests they put out.
