2K Games has announced the release date for Borderlands. In an interview with Gamespot, 2K Games president Christoph Hartmann said Gearbox’s ‘Role Playing Shooter’ will arrive on October the 23rd for the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 across all PAL regions, and the 20th in the US.
When asked about the opposition's offerings, Hartmann commented: "I think this holiday season is a little bit lighter in triple-A games than last year. It's actually a good holiday to put something out. ... There's always risk and opportunity. The risk is you have a hard time standing out against established IP. The opportunity is you have a lot of traffic here and it can be a much bigger product at retail than it would be otherwise."

Damn how did I not pick up on this? I mean I've heard of it, but never knew what it was. I shall have a read.
