Variety.com has confirmed that Spiderman director Sam Raimi will be directing a film based on Blizzard’s World of Warcraft franchise, while Charles Roven of The Dark Night fame will be producing.
Sam Raimi comments: "At its core, 'Warcraft' is a fantastic, action-packed story"
Warner Bros and Legendary Films will be flipping the bill for the movie under a co-production and co-financing deal.

Oh god, there's gonna be a movie? Man... after seeing what some of these players are like, I hope for the sake of the people involved in the film that they get it right.
It better be about a bunch of fat retards sitting around playing WoW or it's not going to be very authentic.
The trouble is that it'll focus on the alliance (humans) who don't have an as interesting back-story to their enemies in my opinion.

Actually, I'll just go wit Deflok, I barely played the games but I hear the HORDE is far more awesome.
This is the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. How on Earth are they going to turn four games' worth of lore into a two-to-three-hour movie? (Let's also consider that one of those games has to be a time vampire to fit in everything.)
That and Raimi is a hack who hasn't made a decent movie in his life.
I might go see this if they stick true to the source though. That means people dancing naked in front of the auction houses and having people b*tch and moan about how their raid lacked the proper gear and that one ninja stole all the good loot.
